Note: The year 1735 is unlikely, since that would put his age at his first marriage at 6.

Show Details Shared Note: - It is highly unlikely that he was born in 1835 as stated in some sources. In the author's own introduction to the Bais Meir on Even Ha'ezer he states the following:
1. "They married me off at the age of 13 in Posen"
2. "I was there till about the age of 20"
3. "I remarried in Lissa and spent 14 years studying there" ‎(from the age 20 or
21 till the age 34 or 35)‎
4. "I was then accepted as rabbi in Mezrich ‎(Miedzyrzecz)‎ where I did not spend
more than 4 years" ‎(from 34 or 35 till 38 or 39)‎
5. "I then went to Konigsberg ‎(Miedzyrzecz)‎ where I spent 13 years" ‎(till age 51 or 52)‎. Rabbi Buksbaum in his introduction to Sheailos Uteshuvos Bais Meir states that the appointment to the rabbinate in Konigsberg was in the year
5527 ‎(1767)‎.
6. Was appointed to Danzig in 1781 or 1782

With this calculation based on Rabbi Meir's own words, he was born no later than 1731 at the latest. This is even if we ignore the 1767 date of his appointment to Konigsberg mentioned by Buksbaum ‎(I do not know if he has a source for this appointment, and it might be calculated)‎. If we do use the 1767 appointment date, he was born no later than 1729. If there were any time between appointments etc, it is easy to see the birth year of 1728 as being the likely birth year.

Note: Tzom Gedalia 5582 ‎(Being Saturday, Tzom Gedalia was delayed to Sunday the 4th of Tishray)‎ - 23 September 1781 is the date listed by Rabbi Y Buksbaum as the date that Rabbi Meir was appointed as Rabbi of Danzig ‎(Gdansk)‎, Schottland, Langfuhr and Weinberg. It is possible that it was the following year on Tzom Gedalia ‎(3 Tishray)‎ 5583 - Wednesday 11 September 1782, that he was selected as Rabbi. This later date would match other sources such as the Jewish Encyclopedia that lists the year as 1782.

Shared Note: - Almost all sources list the death date as 25 Shevat, 5567. Efraim Moishe Pinner's Matzevos Kivros Ha-rabanim Ve'anshe Hashem (also quoted in Geschichte der Juden in Lissa) has a transcription of the monument and lists the death date as Tuesday, 25 Shevat, 5563. This seems to be a typo, since that date was on a Thursday and not a Tuesday. The original manuscript of the transcription held by the Yeshiva University Mendel Gottesman Library was probably sent to M. Pinner by someone in Danzig seems to have the 5567 date, though one can see how it was misread. The Sheailos Utshuvos Bais Meir contains 9 responsa dated after the earlier death date quoted by Pinner in the book.

Shared Note
Author of the Bais Meir. Might have been born in Mezrich where his grandfather was the Rabbi.

Birth It is highly unlikely that he was born in 1835 as stated in some sources. In the author's own introduction to the Bais Meir on Even Ha'ezer he states the following:
1. "They married me off at the age of 13 in Posen"

4. "I was then accepted as rabbi in Mezrich ‎(Miedzyrzecz)‎ where I did not spend

6. Was appointed to Danzig in 1781 or 1782
